The Waitt Institute creates and implements sustainable ocean plans in partnership with committed governments, local stakeholders and communities. Our partnership engages communities and stakeholders, facilitates the policymaking process, and builds capacity for long-term success. We provide expertise, funding, and tools to develop and implement effective ocean plans, supporting countries to achieve global sustainability goals and helping local communities secure their way of life. ? Now more than ever, it is important to find sustainable solutions that not only improve local communities, livelihoods, and economies, but that preserve resources for generations to come. We are committed to a holistic approach that will find the best plans for people, environments, and economies. ? We are a founding member and the organizing body of the Blue Prosperity Coalition, an impact network of NGOs, academic institutions, foundations, and other organizations working together to assist committed governments to protect the environment and improve the economy at the same time.  ?The Waitt Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports marine conservation efforts around the globe through funding and grantmaking. We take a hands on, partnership-oriented approach to support governments, research institutions and NGOs in protecting the ocean.
