PitchBook Pricing in 2026: What It Actually Costs

PitchBook does not publish prices. Every contract is a custom annual quote based on seats, firm type and add-ons.[1] Public data points put a single seat at about $12,000–$20,000 a year,[4][3] extra seats at around $7,000 each,[2] and the median contract at $32,000 a year (Vendr, 2025).[3]

PitchBook cost by seat count: real data points

PitchBook has no public plan prices, so the best evidence is what buyers have actually paid. Each row below names its source and date. The first seat carries most of the cost; each additional seat is much cheaper.

What a PitchBook subscription includes

According to PitchBook's pricing page,[1] a platform seat covers its core datasets: private equity and venture capital deals and managers, M&A deals and acquirers, limited partner data, public company fundamentals, service providers, people, patents, hedge funds and more. It also lists these at no extra charge:

  • The desktop platform, PitchBook Mobile app and Chrome extension
  • Excel and PowerPoint plugins
  • Emerging technology research and access to PitchBook's analyst team

Vendr's archived listing describes three packages, Sole Practitioner (1 seat), Standard and Enterprise, plus a separately priced PitchBook API.[3] PitchBook does not publish prices for any of them.

Hidden costs to budget for

Seat minimums and named users

One customer reported a $7,000 per-seat rate that came with a claimed 5-seat minimum.[4] Seats are named: the UK government order form states user IDs may not be shared.[2]

Add-ons

PitchBook names Direct Data and CRM Integration as premium offerings that change the price.[1] The 2022 order form lists the CRM plugin and Morningstar equity research as separate entitlements,[2] and the API is a separate product.[3]

Export limits

The 2022 order form caps exports at 1,000 rows a day and 2,000 a month of company, deal or fund data per user, and 500 a day and 1,000 a month of people data.[2] If you plan to pull LP lists into a CRM, check your limits before you sign.

Renewal increases

A 2025 Vendr buyer note reports the single Standard user list price rising to $20,000.[3] Contracts are annual and paid up front (the 2022 form: annual payment, net 15),[2] so a renewal increase lands in one invoice.

How to negotiate a lower PitchBook price

  1. Bring a competing quote. One Vendr buyer note says reps hold firm on tier pricing, but citing an alternative pushed the price down 5–10%. Vendr reported buyers saving 14% on average.[3]
  2. Trade term length for price. A Failory customer cut a $25,000-a-year quote for 3 seats to $20,000 by signing for two years.[4]
  3. Ask for a one-time discount. The 2022 UK government order includes a one-time discount of $4,900 on a $24,500 prorated subtotal.[2]
  4. Right-size seats. The first seat is the expensive one. Price the extra seats separately, and challenge any seat minimum.
  5. Get a renewal cap in writing. Agree the maximum increase for the next term before you sign, and confirm export limits and which add-ons are included.

PitchBook pricing FAQ

How much does PitchBook cost?

PitchBook does not publish list prices; it quotes each contract based on seats, firm type and add-ons. Public data points put a single seat at about $12,000 to $20,000 a year (Failory customer reports, 2024; Vendr, 2025), and Vendr’s 2025 purchase data shows a median contract of $32,000 a year across 101 deals, ranging from $20,000 to $125,000.

How much does PitchBook cost per user?

Additional seats are cheaper than the first. A UK government order form from January 2022 shows 14 users for $98,000 a year, or $7,000 per seat, with extra users at $7,000 each. Failory’s customer reports (2024) range from $6,000 to $13,500 per seat a year depending on seat count.

Does PitchBook offer monthly pricing?

No self-serve monthly plan is listed. PitchBook’s own pricing page asks you to request a quote, G2 and TrustRadius both show custom pricing only, and the customer reports and order forms cited here are annual contracts, sometimes billed quarterly.

Is there a free version of PitchBook?

There is no free plan. PitchBook offers a free trial through a request form, and it publishes some free news and research, but the platform itself requires a paid contract.

Can you negotiate PitchBook pricing?

Yes. Vendr reported buyers saving 14% on average (June 2025), and one Vendr buyer note says naming a competitor pushed the price down 5–10%. A Failory customer cut a $25,000 three-seat quote to $20,000 by signing a two-year term. Ask for a renewal cap in writing too.

What is a cheaper alternative to PitchBook for LP research?

If your main need is contacting limited partners, LPbacked covers 19,000+ LPs with verified emails, phones and investment preferences for $245 per month or $1,995 per year, with monthly billing and a 7-day free trial. It does not replace PitchBook’s deal, valuation and company data.
