Berggruen Holdings is the investment vehicle of the Nicolas Berggruen Charitable Trust. Over the last 20 years, we have made well over 100 investments using our proprietary capital. Our investments range from modest commitments to multimillion-dollar single transactions. Berggruen Holdings invests across a wide range of industries, continents, and asset classes, including direct private equity, real estate, alternative energy, financial instruments, and basic industry startups. We pride ourselves in building our portfolio through long-term, value-oriented investments, acquisitions, and partnership management opportunities. Depending on the opportunity and asset class, Berggruen Holdings is prepared to invest up to $200 million in any one transaction. We owe our financial flexibility to the guidance of our Investment Advisor, Nicolas Berggruen. His advice has allowed us to make swift investment decisions which have contributed to longer investment horizons and flexibility in financing. At Berggruen Holdings, we work closely with our management teams, developers, and asset managers to identify appropriate investment opportunities with few requirements except for positive cash flow. The firm is specializing in direct private equity and public market securities. The firm also makes real estate investments through its subsidiary. The firm primarily invests in the United States and Greater Europe but can also invest in Emerging Markets and Asia. It is a direct investment vehicle of The Nicolas Berggruen Charitable Trust.
